The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has reiterated the commitment of his government towards the industrial transformation of the country’s economy, the diversification of agriculture and an increase in agricultural productivity, and the creation of a strong social services sector in Ghana.

Ghana has been named as one of the three countries in Africa to benefit from the Germany’s “Compact with Africa” Programme - a programme that will assist Ghana improve conditions for sustainable private sector investment, investment in infrastructure, economic participation, and employment in the country.

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has stated that his government has put in place reforms, over the last five months, which involve fiscal responsibility and discipline, addressing corruption and unresponsive bureaucracies, focussing on the productive sectors of the economy, and improving the business environment, all aimed at attracting private investment, domestic and foreign, into the country.

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has admonished African leaders to assume responsibility for the transformation of their economies, and depart from the mindset of aid, dependency and charity and handouts.

I am delighted to be here again at the Konrad Adenaeur Foundation’s Academy, with the opportunity to speak, once more, about my beloved country of Ghana, in my new capacity, by the generosity of the Ghanaian people and the blessings of Almighty God, as President of the Republic.
