53rd Independence Day Celebration release
To mark Ghana’s 53rd Independence Day celebration, His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills will this morning be at the Independence Square, as is the norm, to mark the day.
School children drawn from a number of schools in the Greater Accra Region, will be on parade, which is a departure from the past when the Armed Forces took center stage during the parade.
Celebrating the event under the theme “Investing In The Youth For A Better Ghana”, His Excellency President Atta Mills will be speaking to the issue of his Administration’s commitment to equipping the youth of Ghana with the requisite education and skills to enable them take over as the future leaders.
The parade and gymnastics display by the school children is expected to start at 08.30hrs and last for not more than two hours.
