On behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, I extend sincere condolences to the President of the French Republic, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, and to the Government and people of France, on the death of former French President, His Excellency Jacques Chirac. Our sympathies go also to his wife, children and family.  

The President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, has conveyed his and the apologies of the people of South Africa to President Akufo-Addo and the people of Ghana over the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa, that resulted in the deaths of and injuries to several African nationals, and the looting of their shops belonging to them.

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, left the country on Thursday, 19th September, 2019, to lead Ghana’s delegation to the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, says Government, in recognition of the difficulties and dangers confronting police personnel in the discharge of their duties, is committed to resourcing the Police Service, in terms of provision of adequate personnel and logistics, to enable them deliver on their core mandate.
